This poncho-style long kaftan represents a unique collaboration between indigenous artisans and the designer at Nido. Part of the Tres Ríos collection — a gallery of Condor Tribes, a convergence of three rivers from the south — it brings together authentic Guna indigenous molas from Panama, Ngäbe Buglé pintas appliqué, and the intricate linework of Shipibo artisans from the Amazon basin.

The kaftan features a V-neck, rounded hem, a pocket, and open legs below the knee. It also includes handmade washable tassels inspired by tribal ceremonial dress.

What We Do:

Since 2010, Nido has worked with rural female tailors and artisans from remote corners of Panama to revive the local artisanal market. Despite Panama’s rich indigenous textile traditions, they were underrepresented in global markets. Nido introduced designs featuring Guna molas, Ngäbe Buglé textile art, and now Shipibo iconography, pioneering the fashionable application of Panama and South America’s indigenous textile artistry. Today, Nido is a respected brand known for its sustainable ready-to-wear clothing, sought after both locally and globally.
